Investor FAQ
Questions investors ask us — answered honestly
Hi [First Name],
Over the past few weeks, some questions have come up repeatedly. I want to answer them here, in an email — honestly, not just in a deck.
Q: Isn't this market crowded?
Yes — and no. There are lots of content libraries and revision sites. There are very few adaptive, gamified, gap-targeted practice platforms built from real tutoring session data. The market is large enough for a category leader. We think we're building it.
Q: Why now?
Post-pandemic, the emphasis on self-directed learning has accelerated. Parents are more aware of educational gaps. Schools are under-resourced. The appetite for affordable, effective at-home revision tools is at an all-time high — and the freemium model has proven itself as the way to build daily learning habits at scale.
Q: What if a larger platform copies you?
Possible. But our edge isn't just the product — it's the data foundation from 1,000+ real tutoring sessions, 1,200+ handcrafted examiner-verified questions, a founding story that resonates immediately with parents, and the head start we're building. First-mover advantage in a well-defined category is real.

Q: Is Sprout9 AI-proof?
AI can generate questions, but it makes mistakes — and in foundation Maths, one wrong question can corrupt a student's core understanding or steer them away from the subject entirely. Every Sprout9 question is handcrafted and examiner-checked. That's not a limitation — it's our quality standard, and one AI cannot reliably match. As AI tools proliferate, schools and parents will increasingly value platforms that can say: every question has been written and verified by a human expert with decades of examining experience.
Q: What's your competitive moat?
Three things competitors can't easily replicate: 1,200+ handcrafted, examiner-verified questions built over time; a founding story that resonates instantly with every parent; and real tutoring session data from 1,000+ lessons that shaped the product from day one. These compound over time — they don't replicate overnight.
Q: How do you acquire users affordably?
The freemium model does the heavy lifting. Students try Sprout9 free, build a habit and convert. Word of mouth from parents — especially those who've seen a child revise willingly for the first time — is our most powerful acquisition channel. School partnerships will add a scalable B2B layer as we grow.
Q: What does the exit look like?
We're building Sprout9 for a strategic exit once we demonstrate strong user retention, scalable distribution and defensible content IP. Natural acquirers include education publishers, digital learning platforms and assessment companies. A future IPO is also a possibility as the platform scales internationally.

Q: Why invest now rather than wait?
SEIS allocation is finite and issued on a first-committed basis — once it's gone, the 50% income tax relief goes with it. The earlier you invest, the better your entry position. And the story is still in its early chapters — the valuation opportunity is strongest before the rest of the market notices.
